Rog Day 13
Today was my last working day in Atlanta with SPI, and whilst I can’t wait to get home, I will miss the guys because they’ve made me feel so welcome. I spent my day tying up all loose ends, including re-finalising the target list with Mary Ryan, and putting together a schedule of all meetings arranged for when I’m back in the UK, which has changed a lot in the past few days due to our telemarketing company making a number of new appointments.
I finally got to meet Bill Blackstone today, who is SPI’s Consulting Partner for Retail. Bill splits his time between Atlanta and Florida, hence why I haven’t bumped into him before now. I took some of the team out for lunch, where we had a very good chat about how we move things forward, and some good, positive ideas came out of this which I now need to discuss back at RA base camp! It turns out that Jeff is visiting India in mid-October, and plans to stop off in the UK on his way and come up to Nottingham to see us, which will be nice.
After drinks I said my goodbyes and headed off to the Mall to do a bit of pressie shopping for the family. I ended up in Abercrombie & Fitch, which I walked around for ages, before emerging with a really cool Hoodie for my Wife. I then headed back to the Hotel on MARTA, where I enjoyed a great dinner of Louisiana Rabbit in the Bar over some great conversation with Rob, the Bar Manager, as well as a couple that had just been to the Fox to watch Rain, a Beatles Tribute Band (rave reviews over in the States, so worth going if ever you see them advertised in the UK). I thought it strange that they were both really interested in talking about football, until I later found out that the Wife, Leslie, used to play Ladies Pro ‘Soccer’ for a local team, and had also represented the USA!
Tomorrow is going to be a very long day, so I decided against late night packing, and instead have opted to get up reasonably early to do this, plus I also need to head out and grab some last minute pressies before I have to check out.
