Retail Assist 2011 Roundup
Happy 2012! I hope that the year ahead proves to be a good one for all the readers of the Retail Assist blog. 2011 was certainly a bumper year for Retail Assist, so we’re hoping that the next will be just as successful. Below is a roundup of some key 2011 events that took place within our Merret supply chain solution and Managed Services divisions.
Over the course of 2011 the Merret contract wins that Retail Assist first announced at the end of 2010 have all been successfully implemented. Retailers such as ASOS and Jacques Vert have joined many of retail’s top brands in utilising our integrated supply chain solution to facilitate their day-to-day operations.
In June, the Whistles Merret implementation won ‘Project Implementation of the Year’ at the highly regarded Retail Week Technology Awards. 2011 was the second year running that Retail Assist was victorious in this category, the year before we won with new womenswear retailer Mint Velvet.
In January, Aurora Fashions, owner of the Coast, Oasis and Warehouse brands, took the decision to outsource their entire IT department to Retail Assist. Aurora, a clear retail visionary for mobile and multichannel development, has since been rolling out the latest mobile PoS innovations, introducing iPads in store, and offering 90 minute delivery services. The Retail Assist IT teams supporting these developments have been crucial to project success.
In contrast, other retailers such as White Stuff and SuperGroup, have outsourced an aspect of their support to us, allowing Retail Assist’s Help Desk to become an extension of their in-house IT team. Retail Assist’s work with White Stuff was recognised when both companies were jointly shortlisted in the ‘IT team of the year’ category at the Retail Systems Awards in October.
